This is my nephew and his girlfriend. I haven't had the chance to meet this lovely lady, but I've never seen my nephew more happy than in pictures he takes with her. I felt this picture in particular was begging to be scrapped - of course I had to steal it off of Facebook, he he.</div>

This is one of my favorite pictures of us together. I was able to complete the layout without shedding a tear, but once it was finished and I stepped back and looked at it... I became a human waterfall.<br />

I woke up this morning feeling the need to make just one more Valentine. I had some scraps left over from another project that I thought would be perfect for a Valentine. So, this is what I came up with...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQTlavaTGSRYl_etoFATwDH0gJ-s08KFSx1xWpilf7oA3GtP3D5hjLhcVUtATiI3XoYUPeyKjnqx1zq8_e470ENgRujV82UqkjW0e6BgwGDxDYwhyIca3R0ExL1wmmjRPFjIutx9KDaNRT/s1600/DSCF1724.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQTlavaTGSRYl_etoFATwDH0gJ-s08KFSx1xWpilf7oA3GtP3D5hjLhcVUtATiI3XoYUPeyKjnqx1zq8_e470ENgRujV82UqkjW0e6BgwGDxDYwhyIca3R0ExL1wmmjRPFjIutx9KDaNRT/s1600/DSCF1724.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had this lovely strip of paper from Teresa Collins' You are My Happy line. I had already punched out the "love" in a heart shape for another project, and it turned out to work perfectly for this design too. I glued the strip onto a 5.5 x 4.25 card I made from leftover card stock. The rest of the card just grew from there. I used additional scraps and some washi tape to create the pennants. I topped it off with some stickles accents and assorted embellishments, which again, were leftover from other projects. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm submitting this to the Quietfire Blog Hop. Check them out and show them and me some love, by voting for my card design over the next few days. </div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvuHiQpDtLcY2Fl1pBlVKZAadTkW8wYkTDUCT2bbYe3AVr0KdNSXcVNt8Ke-gv2MbCWnkK4RPgAIdNJHOrI0m-bdqHLLGr0gJAORKqVTLFKqUVInG8QynKdh7qzJzmphg3FzrRsel6pX8-/s1600/photo+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvuHiQpDtLcY2Fl1pBlVKZAadTkW8wYkTDUCT2bbYe3AVr0KdNSXcVNt8Ke-gv2MbCWnkK4RPgAIdNJHOrI0m-bdqHLLGr0gJAORKqVTLFKqUVInG8QynKdh7qzJzmphg3FzrRsel6pX8-/s1600/photo+(1).JPG" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started with yellow smooth bazzill cardstock cut 7" x 6.5", scored a line at 3.5" on the 7" side and folded on the score line. I used a fiskars corner rounder on all four corners.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the goggle, I used my silhouette to cut a white heart and a grey heart frame. I used a marvy silver DecoColor pen to color the frame and I glued it on top of the white heart to create the goggle. I finished it off with a .5" black circle and a black foam pop dot for the eye. The band is a simple .5" strip of black cardstock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the overalls I cut a 3.5" x 2" piece out of denim shimmer paper and used the fiskars corner rounder on the bottom two corners. Then I took a black Signo pen and doodled stitching around the entire piece and a pocket in the middle. I punched a small heart out of red glitter paper using a Marvy punch and adhered it with another foam pop dot. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The mouth I drew by hand with a black zig writer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've seen several other Minion cards out there. They are super cute and very easy to make. If you have a Minion fan in your home, you should definitely give it a try.</div>

<br />
I have been MIA for months, I know, I'm sorry. But I'm back and I have so much to share with you. I have been working for a Scrapbooking store, that is now sadly closing. So I have decided to get back on here and get the creative juices flowing. Over the next few weeks I'll be updating you on some projects I've been working on over the past few months, so stay tuned!<br />

<br />
I had a great NSD over at scrapbook.com, so I thought I would share some of my NSD challenge creations...<br />
<br />
<br />
Snail Mail Challenge:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/DSCF96151_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" mea="true" src="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/DSCF96151_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This is a card I created for my son's preschool teacher. My son and his teacher both love Star Wars, as does our whole family. So I thought I would make a cute little card that would thank him for being a great Jedi Master teacher for our little Padawan.<br />
<br />
<br />
There's No Place Like Home Challenge:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/familypromiselonsd2012_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" mea="true" src="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/familypromiselonsd2012_1.jpg" width="316" /></a></div>
I did this layout to tell the story of being homeless and how my family had to sleep in churches for 3 months.<br />
<br />
<br />
Write a Book Challenge:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/acrossthepondnsd2012_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" mea="true" src="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/acrossthepondnsd2012_1.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
This was a layout that had to include a good amount of journaling, so I decided to tell the story of me and my husband's long distance relationship before he came to the US to live with me, marry me, and have beautiful babies with me. :)<br />
<br />
<br />
Mask it and Mist it Challenge:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/atthepooljacobnsd2012_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" mea="true" src="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/atthepooljacobnsd2012_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This was a fun one. We had to use a mask and mist. I decided to use the Crafter's Workshop Fish Scales template that I got in my NSD kit that I ordered from scrapbook.com. (I think they still have some kits available, and I tell you... everything in it was awesome, check it out!) I used some shimmery blue paper that I picked up from Michael's a while ago. After placing the mask, first I used my <span style="color: black;">Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in Faded Jeans. I stamped randomly around the page, not completely covering it. Second I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Denim Blue. I made sure to completely cover the page and allow it to dry. When the mask was lifted, there was an awesome water effect left on the page. The splash was done with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence by blotting the brush onto the paper. I think it turned out pretty cool! </span><br />
<br />
<br />
Sketch it! Challenge:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/1/13796/floorplannatlscrapbookday_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" mea="true" src="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/1/13796/floorplannatlscrapbookday_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/bleu2daysoldnsd2012_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" mea="true" src="http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/69/693613/bleu2daysoldnsd2012_1.jpg" width="313" /></a></div>
I love this one! Simply said... my daughter at two days being loved by daddy. You can't get more precious than that. Thank you Kels for the great sketch! <br />
<br />
